The next 1000 EUR are gone.
The first 1000 EUR were still largely transportation costs. For about 9000 km distance that was a good deal.
I have spent the second 1000 EUR on more decadent things:
- The Steppe tour was costly.
- Nadaam festival, too.
- Mongolian Food is affordable, but sometimes not varied enough.
- Beijing is an expensive place.
I also indulged myself in consumption:
- 200 business cards
- a proper trekking pants
- a new t-shirt, the old one dissolves

Even without small excesses, the money would have been gone soon. China and Mongolia are located in Asia. But the costs of living are not nearly as cheap as in India and Southeast Asia.
Well, you only live once (-;
