The flocblog is a travel blog. That’s what it’s called at Tourististan’s travel bloggers und at hostelbookers best travel blogs.
Travelpicture24 even calls the flocblog a photo blog.
That’s right, of course, thank you for the flowers!
floc became a traveler and photographer. The flocblog became a travel blog and photo blog:
- travelling as main content
- extra wide panoramic images
- almost every 2nd entry a photo gallery
- bilingual: English, German
- geotags with world travel map
Travel blogging is fun and became my favorite hobby. Also you readers seem to like it. Visitor numbers have tripled since the beginning of the journey.

A trip is a good reason for blogging, but I am just as happy with other reasons. The flocblog has already been around many years before the world tour.
I was getting ready to write about other reasons again in the future:
- evolution and food
- nuclear power and rationality
- fitness and sleep
- basic income and work
- religion and humanism
You don’t think about many of those “settled issues”, when you’re busy traveling.
Unfortunately, I got shown the door by my Vietnam love at our reunion in Munich. It was over before it started. Even the promised cheese cake was missing.
This reception in Germany has pulled the rug from under my feet. The main reason for my considered settling down in Munich is now gone.
Auf Wiederschaun, München!
Out of the 3 threads, 2 are remaining: wanderlust and the desire to work. So, let’s go back out into the world. The only way I can afford Europe is by heavily compromising, anyway.

Tut mir leid, dass es mit München und deinem Mädel nicht geklappt hat!
Dafür freue ich mich aber sehr, dass du wieder auf Reisen gehst und weiter berichtest und Fotos postest! Wo geht es als nächstes hin?

Am liebsten würde ich ehrlich gesagt den 123€ Pullmantur Flieger von Madrid zurück nach Mexiko nehmen. Aber das geht natürlich net, auf zu neuen Ufern! (-;
Tja, wohin bloß?
Warum sollte das nicht gehen? (Okay, es wird wohl ein bisschen teurer… .) Aber ab zurück nach Mexiko und von dort auf dem langen, langen Landweg bis hinunter nach Feuerland! Traumstrecke!!
Es wäre genau 27 EUR teurer. Die Pullmantur 99,- Billigflüge gibts auch in der anderen Richtung, aber in Spanien mit mehr Steuern.

Leider ist der Landweg auf der Panamericana keiner. Es gibt zwischen Panama und Kolumbien die sog. Darien Gap, 70km Niemandsland. Darüberfliegen kostet mehr als 300$, Umschiffen kostet mehr als 300$.
Mittelamerika ist ne Sackgasse. Deswegen wars auch gar nicht so bescheuert heimzukommen. Condor Flüge von FRA nach Südamerika kosten kaum mehr, als von Panama nach Kolumbien!
Pullmantur fliegt auch in die Dominikanische Republik. Aber das scheint erst recht ne Sackgasse zu sein, außer man will günstig in die USA.
Pullmantur haben halt nur Boeing 747 und versuchen ihre Flieger halbwegs voll zu bekommen. Ich hatte 3 Sitze für mich allein auf dem Madrid Flug.
Oh Mann, das wusste ich nicht! War mir nicht klar, dass man nicht einfach so von Nord- nach Südamerika fahren kann, ich war immer fest davon ausgegangen, dass es da eine Autobahn gibt! Tja, dann vielleicht direkt nach Kolumbien fliegen? Soll ein schönes Land sein, war selber allerdings noch nicht da! Egal wofür du dich entscheidest, auf jeden Fall viel Spass!
Ohne Reisen gäbe es keine Fotos aus der Welt von dir, ohne Fotos gäbe es keine tollen Berichte aus der Welt von dir – weiter so!
PS: Ich habe plötzlich Lust auf Barcelona… ;-)

Haha yeah, I got dumped doesn’t sound good. How about “I got shown the door” instead? Brushed off can work too, but the subtext there tends to be the sort where you’re rebuffed after approaching someone in a bar, and I think you had something a bit more deep than that.
