China, what to do?
China covers almost the same area as the whole of Europe. Chinese cantons are as diverse as European countries.
Wanting to see Europe in 7 weeks is crazy. Wanting to see China in 7 weeks just as well!
Europe fits almost into China
But do I want to see China at all? In the next few days I have to decide:
3 ways onward trip to Nepal
- Adventurous Karakoram Highway through Pakistan
- Fucking expensive tour through Tibet (60+ EUR/day)
- Boring flight to Nepal
2 ways China
- Direct onward journey
- Three weeks of Southwestern China with a visarun to Hong Kong / Vietnam, then onward journey
This adds up to
3 x 2 = 6 combinations
China in die Hand nehmen?
My view:
- I would like to avoid planes, if possible.
- Nepal is bleak in the monsoon season prior to October.
- Pakistan or Tibet are easier with 2 travellers.
- I’d estimate Greg’s desire to travel on in 3 weeks close to 80%.
Should I
- leave immediately to Pakistan and India?
- wait for Greg in Southwestern China and meanwhile look for cheaper Tibet tours?
- cancel the world tour and return to dreamland Thailand?

Nordkorea? Vielleicht solltest du vorher noch kräftig essen. Obwohl… die hamm Speisesääle für 600 Kinder, wie wir noch aus The Red Chapel wissen…
Ich habe nen Briten getroffen, der jetzt schon in Nordkorea ist. Ehrlich gesagt find ich so ne Tour mit Babysitter net interessant. Teurer als Tibet ist es sicher auch.

Ich hör aufn Lupo. 3 Wochen Yunnan und Guanxi inkl. Visarun nach Hongkong. In Vietnam gibts leider kein Visa on Arrival aufm Landweg.
