Last night was Chinese New Year!
The year of the monkey has ended, we have arrived in the year of the dragon!
Chinese New Year is an important family celebration.
Christmas is similar for us, as is Diwali for Hindus, Dasain in Nepal and Nadaam in Mongolia.
The dragon is said to bring good luck …
… for old and young.
This is celebrated.
With music and dance!
And big, round balls.
Thanks to the lucky lunar phase, Chinese New Year 2012 is already 1 month earlier than the tiger year was.
